Faculty of ( PESPS) is one of the faculties of Zawiya University, which grew up in the framework of interest in human construction. I is established at the beginning as a Higher Institute of Physical Education for Girls on 15/3/1987. To complement the institute's role in the development of the sports movement in Libya, the Institute was accredited as a faculty in 1992 and became one of the faculties of Zawiya University from the date of its adoption. The duration of study became four years to obtain a bachelor's degree in physical education. As a result of the great development of society and the spread of awareness of the role of sports and its importance in the service of the community and the demand for the study of the specialization of physical education, it was necessary to seek attention to the teaching of female and male and in 1999 the faculty became mixed, In 2014, the faculty moved from the former headquarters to the new university compound, which organizes many stadiums, a strong track, gyms, gymnastics, swimming pool, gym and football ground.
