.  Preparing qualified and distinguished cadres in the fields of humanities, by providing advanced integrated study programs to ensure the degrees awarded by the faculty.

. Conducting scientific research and studies in various fields of languages, literature and humanities,    strengthening relationships and exchanging experiences with other scientific bodies and institutions inside and outside Libya.

. Providing scientific and technical expertise and advice to public and private institutions and bodies, to overcome the difficulties that may stand in the way of development, and also to contribute to the building of society.

.  Reviving the human literary heritage in general, and the Arab literary heritage in particular, including the Libyan heritage, focusing on literary and linguistic studies and their sciences.

.  Providing the right scientific environment by participating in conferences, seminars and scientific and research forums inside and outside the country.

. Work to develop the human competencies working in faculty, and provide them with all the updated programs in education.

. Collaborate with other faculties at home and abroad to share other's experience, and to get benefit from distance learning programs.
