The Faculty of Education in Zuwara, is one of masterpiece of knowledge. It is located at the eastern entrance of City of Zuwara, It was founded in its beginning as the Faculty of Arts that contributes to the construction of the educated human being specialized in the humanities. It was established in the academic year 1991/1992 and is opened five departments during the academic year 1993/1992, namely the Department of History and the Department of Geography. The Department of Philosophy and the Department of Arabic Language, and in the academic year 1994/1993 the departments of English and French were opened, also in later years the departments of Islamic studies and social service were opened as the department of Amazigh language was opened during the whole year 2015 /2016. The duration of study in this faculty is four years and the graduate is awarded a bachelor's degree in arts. Then, after that, the course of this faculty was changed to the Faculty of Education and teacher preparation of Zawiya University, in accordance with the decision of the Minister of Education (No. 1471) of 1749 of 14-11-11-1114 A.D. on the change of the name of a higher education institution for the Faculty of Arts Zuwara, so that the Faculty of Education is a Zuwara, which graduates teachers in various educational disciplines.

<p>      The faculty aspires to lead and best in the field of human and educational studies to achieve quality in educational fields, making it a distinguished institution academically , it  also sought at the local, regional, and international level.</p>

To build a human being to be a teacher and educator with theoretical and applied knowledge in the fields of human and behavioral knowledge in order to ensure sustainable human development to highlight human capacities in accordance with the requirements of the current time through the development of qualitative disciplines that meet the needs of society.

This faculty aimed to Prepare a highly qualified teacher through high quality scientific programs and activities to create a generation with ethics and values.

Contribute for serving the community and promote to interaction between the faculty and scientific and social institutions to achieve (community partnership) and applying the slogan that says : (university in the service of the community)

Produce a good educational research that addresses the various educational and social issues faced by the educational system for improving the educational process in Libya.

Work to improve the skills of faculty member staff and all the employees in the faculty to assure that they reached to comprehensive quality.

Continuous contribution to improve scientific curricula, teaching methods and educational techniques in order to meet the society needs and achieve the best outcomes
